Improvement District Fee Structures for FY 2008-09

Downtown Parking Improvement Area (DPIA)
DPIA self-assessment fees are collected through business licenses from Downtown businesses within a geographical boundary in Downtown Long Beach. The current annual assessment is approximately $367.83 per business and $6.19 per employee and for Service Based Independent Contractors, $224.38 per business and $4.25 per employee.

Property Based Improvement District (PBID)
PBID self-assessment fees collected through County of Los Angeles property tax from commercial real estate owners within a geographical boundary in Downtown Long Beach. The assessment methodology is based on the parcel and building square footage and linear footage of the property and the level of services rendered to the three benefit areas.
